Description

This densely embroidered textile from Meknès, Morocco was possibly used as a pillow cover.
A vertical cotton and silk cloth is embroidered with a wide band of red geometric patterns across the top. A central column features stacked squares of yellow, green, and dark blue thread. Flanking this, large pointed shapes with saw-toothed edges extend downward; the left is red, while the right is yellow. A thin vertical opening bisects the lower fabric, which shows several small light brown stains.
