A horizontally oriented etching in sepia tones depicts Venetian architecture along a canal. In the lower left, stone steps descend into the water. Gondolas, including one with a standing gondolier, float across the middle ground before rows of multi-story buildings with arched windows and columns. The bottom half contains a precise, mirror-like reflection of the entire cityscape in the still water. Handwritten text and numbers appear in the lower corners.
