Dense script in gum tempera and ink is brushed onto a horizontally oriented palm leaf. Three rectangular blocks of text are spaced across the tan, striated surface, punctuated by two circular holes. Fine grain lines run the length of the strip, with small markings and numbers at the far ends. The composition highlights the rhythmic contrast between the dark ink and the natural texture of the long, narrow material.
