A horizontally long off-white linen lace flounce is worked with a dense, repeating pattern of connected scrolling flowers and leafy arabesques. Its delicate mesh-like structure creates alternating areas of airy open space and solid thread across the textile's length. While the top edge is straight, the bottom is finished with a rhythmic row of small, pointed teeth. Fine threads join the intricate motifs together, giving the band a shimmering, web-like appearance of delicate lace.
