A circular bronze medal features a central field of raised block text anchored by two vertical bundles of rods. Each bundle is bound by crossed bands and topped with an ax blade projecting outward. Below the inscription, beginning "WITH MALICE TOWARD NONE," sits a cursive signature reading "A. Lincoln." The matte, golden-brown metal reveals a fine, pitted texture, with light catching the sharp lettering and casting a crescent shadow at the base.
