Ten vertical plates of dark brown iron, joined by intricate chainmail rings, form the center of this protective shin guard. These metal splints are mounted against dark blue silk. Above them, a curved panel displays a honeycomb pattern with dark circular centers. To the lower left, a patch of worn, mottled greenish-gray material is stitched in place. A narrow, light-colored band outlines the irregular silhouette of the armor piece.
