A vertically oriented etching in black ink on off-white paper depicts an elderly man with a light skin tone from the shoulders up. Facing left with a furrowed brow and downcast eyes, he wears a brimmed hat and a loose, draped cloth. Deeply etched lines define his wrinkled skin. In the lower left, his hand rests against his chest. Dense black hatching creates heavy shadows and textures across his face and hat.
