Description

Although this fringed bobbin lace fragment is made of linen, its format is like those for laces made of gold, silver, and colored silk threads.
A horizontally long strip of off-white bobbin lace features a central band of repeating, scrolled floral motifs. Two narrow, rectangular bands of open mesh frame the patterns. A long fringe of delicate vertical threads hangs from the lower edge across its length. The scrolled motifs wind rhythmically through the center, while the lace ends appear uneven and fragmented.
