A horizontally oriented etching in black ink depicts a vast landscape under a high, empty sky. A large hill rises in the middle ground, topped by crumbling stone ruins. Fine, sketchy lines and layered dashes define the terrain. Tiny figures and horses form a line on our left, while more cluster near dark, open-sided shelters on our right. Handwritten text at bottom right identifies the artist, James McBey, and location, Ras-el-Ain.
