A vertically oriented black-inked print on cream paper is composed of dense stippling and open space forming a central shield within a thin border. Rising from the top, a horse's head features a frenetic mane of flowing strands. Within the stippled field is a black bird and a ribbon inscribed "EX LIBRIS". At the bottom, the name "A. C. Hord" is printed against a background wash of shaded, curved hashes.
