Description

This fragment features alternating stags and stars embroidered in curl and satin stitch.
A horizontally long, off-white linen needle lace fragment features a repeating pattern set against a square openwork grid. Raised stitching defines the motifs: an antlered animal facing right, a star-shaped floral design, another identical animal, and a rectangular geometric block. The monochromatic textile displays a textured surface with frayed, irregular ends. Cream thread contrasts the dense embroidered figures against the airy, translucent mesh background.
