Description

The design motif of this piece of bobbin lace is referred to as 'piedi di gallina' (chicken's feet).
Interlaced cream-colored threads create a horizontal band of bobbin lace featuring a central pattern of repeating oval medallions and mesh openings. A solid, straight border runs along the top edge, while a series of tiny loops defines the bottom. The material is worn, ending in frayed, irregular clusters of loose threads. The composition showcases varying densities of woven thread, creating a delicate balance between solid and open spaces.
