A steel gun-lock hammer, an S-shaped mechanism, features an upper section arcing right into a serpent-like head with an open mouth and etched eye. A thin vertical arm extends from the top curve. Engraved leaf patterns decorate the dark, weathered surface. The body narrows slightly before curling into a rounded bulb with a central square hole. The metallic patina is dark gray with hints of green tarnish.
