A cylindrical porcelain cup features a gold rim, base band, and handle on a cream exterior. Repeating gold wreaths enclose a gray coiled shell and a purple and black butterfly. Vertical thistles with green foliage and red pods separate these medallions. A prominent vertical crack extends from the rim. To the right, a gold handle curves with a sharp lower projection. The interior is glazed white.
