Description
As an amulet, the basket was associated with the cat-goddess Bastet. Statuettes of Bastet frequently show her carrying basketfuls of kittens. This amulet is remarkable for its openwork design- Said to have been in the collection of Theodore M. Davis; purchased from McDougall Palmer Ltd., London
