Family Day at the CMA
Bring your family to the museum every second Sunday of the month from 11 am to 4 pm, and enjoy free art making activities and programs for all ages. Explore the museum through dance, music, and hands on projects!
March 9: Go, Go, Van Gogh!
Celebrate the art of Vincent Van Gogh and his interest in Japanese art. Try your hand at painting like Van Gogh, work with other museum visitors to create a Japanese Screen, and help make a work of art in motion in the Ames Family Atrium. In honor of Van Gogh Repetitions, take our Double Vision scavenger hunt through the galleries and try to spot the differences.
April 13: Museum Ambassadors Community Day
Join us as the Museum Ambassadors from Bedford, CASTLE, Cleveland School of the Arts, John Hay, Lincoln-West, Shaker, Shaw, Hawken, and Westlake High Schools present an afternoon of free studio activities, games, and tours of their own creation.
May 11: Tales from India
Enjoy the rich traditions of stories and storytelling in India. Learn about Indian folklore in the galleries from members of the community. Enjoy a free performance by accomplished performer and teacher of Bharatanatyam, Sujatha Srinivasan. Take a picture with puppets that illustrate the romantic Indian folktale of Shakuntala. Make your own illuminated manuscript like the museum's Tuti-nama.
