Join us on the first Friday evening of each month for an ever-changing mix of art, music, and mingling.
Friday, October 3, 2014, 5:00–9:00 p.m.
Celebrate the rich color palette, crisp weather, and warming libations that make autumn a memorable time of year. Toast the splendor of the season with a craft brew in our atrium beer garden, watch expert pumpkin carvings by Illuminated Carves, and enjoy the newgrass sounds of Cleveland band Honeybucket. Plus, tour the galleries to find masterworks of gorgeous autumn landscapes.
Friday, November 7, 5:00–9:00 p.m.
Experience a runway show featuring surrealist-inspired designs as you meet your friends, grab a drink, and dive into the wild world of the subconscious. In celebration of the exhibition Forbidden Games: Surreasist and Modern Photography, The David Raymond Collection, finalists from CMA's Made Surreal fashion design competition will present their inner-mind-revealing couture for the MIX crowd and for a special panel of judges including:
- David Raymond, art collector and filmmaker
- Doris Raymond, vintage clothing guru and owner of Los Angeles vintage store The Way We Wore (featured in the Smithsonian Channel hit "L.A. Frock Stars")
- Jean Drusedow, director of the Kent State University Museum
- Barbara Tannenbaum, curator of photography at the Cleveland Museum of Art
Let the vintage photography of Forbidden Games be your fashion inspiration and come dressed in your favorite black and white.
