Scott Freiman presents: A Trip Through Strawberry Fields
Scott Freiman, the New York composer, producer, and engineer who delivers unique, acclaimed lectures on the music of the Beatles, returns to the museum. One year after his well-received talks on Sgt. Pepper and the "White Album," Freiman will present three new and different programs over three successive days. Employing rare audio and video clips, and recounting anecdotes about the recording sessions, Freiman walks audiences through detailed analyses of the songwriting and production techniques used by the Fab Four to record their landmark albums and singles.
In this program Freiman explores the creation of the Beatles' groundbreaking 1967 single "Strawberry Fields Forever"/"Penny Lane," which marked a large step forward for the band and for all popular music. The presentation also includes an in-depth look at Sgt. Pepper's "A Day in the Life." (Multimedia, approx. 2 hours)
