Cleveland, OH (February 25, 2018) – The Cleveland Museum of Art (CMA) announces ticket information for one of its most anticipated exhibitions of the year, Yayoi Kusama: Infinity Mirrors. The exhibition will be on view at the CMA from July 7 to September 30, 2018, in The Kelvin and Eleanor Smith Foundation Exhibition Hall and Gallery, as well as in the Ames Family Atrium. Cleveland is the only Midwest venue for Yayoi Kusama: Infinity Mirrors.
Cleveland, OH (February 9, 2018) – The Cleveland Museum of Art (CMA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Britany Salsbury as Associate Curator of Prints and Drawings. Salsbury will work closely with Emily Peters, Curator of Prints and Drawings, on the growth, display, and interpretation of the museum’s collection of over 24,000 prints and drawings. Salsbury will assume her responsibilities on March 27.

Cleveland, OH (January 9, 2018) – This month Dana Schutz returns to Cleveland with a new exhibition, Eating Atom Bombs, featuring a group of 12 paintings and three drawings created primarily in the past year. Seven of these works have never been exhibited before. The exhibition’s title speaks to the precariousness of our current political and social moment.
Cleveland, OH (December 17, 2017)—Recent acquisitions by the Cleveland Museum of Art include a performance piece by Pierre Huyghe, a leader in the Relational Aesthetic genre and the first work of its kind to enter the museum’s collection; an oil painting on copper by Johann König, one of the most significant masters of German painting at the beginning of the 17th century; a generous bequest of several works from Frances P. Taft, a beloved Trustee of the Cleveland Museum of Art; and two groups of photos, gifted to the museum by The George Gund Foundation.

Cleveland, OH (September 27, 2017)—The Cleveland Museum of Art’s recent acquisitions include a portrait of Colonel Charles Heathcote by British artist Joseph Wright of Derby, a drawing by German Expressionist Oskar Kokoschka, a 14th-century Japanese hanging scroll featuring the Buddhist deity Aizen Myōō, Wisdom King of Passion, and a monumental oil painting on canvas by contemporary Chinese artist Liu Wei.

Cleveland (September 1, 2017)– The Cleveland Museum of Art presents two solo exhibitions featuring new works by Northeast Ohio artists Scott Olson and Jerry Birchfield, and a performance, installation and audio piece by Columbus-based artists Liz Roberts and Henry Ross. Scott Olson and Jerry Birchfield: Stagger When Seeing Visions, the artists’ first institutional solo exhibitions, will open with a free public reception at Transformer Station Friday, September 1, at 7 p.m.
