New Works On View: Japanese Art Galleries
Beginning Saturday, 7/15, see new works on view in the Japanese galleries (235 A–B).
These new objects explore how artists during the 19th and early 20th centuries in Japan balanced tradition with Western influence.
Also, be sure to stop by Reeds and Geese: Japanese Art from the Collection of George Gund III, on view through Sun, 9/3, which features Japanese art from the 13th through the early 17th century for a cultural counterpoint.
For more info, check out the piece in the Cleveland Art member's magazine here.
