A horizontally oriented earthenware lid is crowded with game animals in high relief against green ferns and oak leaves. At the center, a large brown and white hare lies beneath a thick brown branch. Above the hare rests a dark blue bird, while below it, a blue-gray and tan bird faces our left. Across the oval composition, the glossy surface emphasizes detailed textures of fur and feathers.
