Did You Know?

Green Wheat, created by Paris-trained American industrial designer Gale Turnbull, became one of the most popular patterns produced by Leigh Potters.

Description

Leigh Potters produced sophisticated yet inexpensive tableware for the American consumer from the mid-1920s until 1931.
A square cream ceramic saucer features notched, scalloped corners and a fine network of crackled lines. Four vibrant green wheat stalks stand in a staggered row along the left, their pointed grain heads descending in height. A shallow square indentation sits at the center. A thin black line follows the scalloped perimeter, providing a sharp geometric border against the pale, textured surface.
