A horizontally oriented mineral pigment and gold leaf painting on paper across six panels depicts a gnarled plum tree. At our left, a thick trunk curves toward the center where a pheasant with a red face and long tail perches. Snowy mounds sprout green leaves and white flowers. To our right, a spindly branch extends over a dark, winding stream against a textured, shimmering gold background.
