Did You Know?

The solidus coin was first made in AD 301 in Rome.
A gold coin features an inscription circling a central figure. Facing forward, a stylized man wears a helmet with a feathered crest and a decorated headband. He holds a globe topped with a cross and wears armor under a draped cloak. Raised Latin letters encircle the image. The coin has a warm, yellow metallic surface with visible wear and an irregular, slightly flattened shape.
