Description

These six Daoist deities all carry plaques inscribed with their names. This leaf continues the series of half-officers for the seventh through twelfth months, ordered from right to left. Album leaf 23 has the six half-officers for the first to the sixth month of the cycle.
A horizontal ink drawing on aged tan paper features six figures walking left across billowing clouds. Each figure wears flowing, layered robes and holds a vertical tablet featuring Chinese characters. Fine black lines define the detailed garments and dense, swirling cloud patterns that fill the lower half and left side of the composition. Slight wear marks the bottom edge of the paper.
