Description

Fine ceramics like this were buried in the graves of the high-status dead, some of them certainly leaders of the several groups that competed in the area.
A circular ceramic vessel is shaped like a shallow bowl. The warm reddish-brown interior features faint concentric markings spiraling from the center. A thick, dark red slip coats the wide, rounded rim. Mottled gray and brown patches appear across the center and along the bottom edge. The vessel's surface displays subtle variations in texture throughout, with a smooth basin transitioning into a defined, darker border.
