A horizontally oriented sepia photogravure depicts two boys with medium skin tones seated in the circular cockpit of a skin-covered kayak. Both wear thick fur parkas and patterned caps. On our left, one boy faces right with his mouth open. To his right, the other boy faces us with curved lips. Rippled water fills the background. The entire scene is rendered in warm, monochromatic tones.
