A vertically oriented, sepia-toned photogravure depicts two Zuni girls with medium skin tones standing on a riverbank. Facing us, each is wrapped in a dark cloak and balances a large ceramic vessel with animal patterns on her head. They wear white wraps around their feet while a river curves toward a distant hill in the background. Text along the bottom reads, "ZUÑI GIRLS AT THE RIVER."
