Description

An important figure in Soviet photography between World War I and World War II, Evzerikhin began working as a photojournalist for the TASS news agency in the early 1930s. In Moscow, Evzerikhin used an elevated vantage point to flatten the space in the photograph and transform the image into a series of abstract patterns and shapes. The bold diagonals repreated throughout the composition capture the energy and motion of an everyday, urban street.
