A vertically oriented, predominantly light-toned graphite drawing on tan paper depicts three studies of a monkey. At the top, a large, hunched monkey faces our left with its head bowed and back shaded with dark, diagonal hatching. Below, in the lower center, are two smaller sketches: a simple outline facing our left and a detailed study to our right of a monkey looking down with dark shading on its crown.
