A silver tankard features a tapered cylindrical body with tiered bands of decoration. Slanted, rounded ridges encircle the base beneath a border of leaf patterns. A central band resembles twisted rope, while the hinged, domed lid is capped with radiating ridges and a serrated lip. A sturdy C-shaped handle includes a curved thumbpiece for opening the lid. The entire silver surface is polished to a brilliant, reflective finish.
