Description

During the last 15 years of Redon’s life, his studio was busy with commissions for pastel portraits of women with flowers. Here, the adolescent niece of the Paris collector Marcel Kapferer is enveloped in a cloudlike bouquet of azure, purple, and white blossoms, with iridescent colors and a velvety texture that evoke butterfly wings.
