A vertically oriented lithograph on cream paper features a dense, mottled field of charcoal gray speckles. Granular, stone-like textures concentrate around the perimeter, leaving an irregular, lighter mass in the center. Handwritten pencil script lines the bottom margin: "épreuve d'artiste" on the left, "Végétation primordiale" in the center, and the signature "J. Dubuffet 59" at the lower right. The composition evokes weathered earth or primordial growth.
