One side of a gold coin features defined lines and an inscription circling an image. It depicts King George V in profile from the neck up with a short, trimmed beard, mustache, and short hair. A raised, beaded border encircles the edge. The Latin inscription around the edge reads, "GEORGIVS V DEI GRA: BRITT: OMN: REX FID: DEF: IND: IMP:" and small initials, B.M., are at the base.
