A gold coin features defined lines and a Latin inscription circling a central image. Edward VII is depicted in profile from the shoulders up facing right with short, textured hair and a full beard. A beaded border encircles the inscription: "EDWARDVS VII DEI GRA: BRITT: OMN: REX FID: DEF: IND: IMP:". Small letters reading "De S." are visible below the neck. The warm yellow surface has a soft, metallic sheen.
