One side of a gold coin features a beaded border and an inscription circling a central image (see "Inscriptions" field). In profile, William IV faces right with short, wavy hair and a bare neck with tiny initials at the base. The warm, yellow gold has a reflective background with matte textures on the raised features. The inscription reads GULIELMUS IIII D.G. BRITANNIAR. REX F.D. in capital letters.
