Description

This is a cast-iron stand for a two-sided table screen. One side of the screen is an enamel-painted copper plaque with European figures. The reverse side is a glass painting of architectural landscape in the Chinese style.
A cast iron stand consists of horizontally oriented, symmetrical forms featuring dense openwork patterns of swirling clouds. Four curved points rise along the top edge, while the central portion displays layered circular motifs. The dark, matte metal catches subtle light, highlighting irregular, pitted textures and swirling outlines against the shadowy recesses of the openwork. Two wide, rounded feet support the base.
