Description

The deceptive handmaiden appeals her case to the enthroned king, falsely claiming that the young prince has assaulted her. The prince, dressed in white, is taken away by two armed guards to be executed.
A vertically oriented tempera and ink painting depicts seven figures with medium skin tones. At the center, a woman and a man in blue stand before a seated figure on an ornate platform. In the foreground, a figure in yellow raises a mace while a man in orange draws a sword over another in white. Behind them, a bright red wall sits beneath a white-domed building and gold and blue sky.
