Description

This sketchbook contains 59 pages of graphite drawings and 16 watercolors made at various locations on Cape Ann, Massachusetts.
Graphite on horizontally oriented sketchbook paper features gestural marks spanning two pages. On the left, jagged lines delineate a tree above a hatched rectangular structure, with delicate strokes suggesting a building and small figure nearby. On the right, vertical strokes and scalloped loops create dense, leafy clusters. A single vertical line defines the composition's rightmost boundary, preserving the cream paper along the far edge.
