Description

This sketchbook contains 59 pages of graphite drawings and 16 watercolors made at various locations on Cape Ann, Massachusetts.
A vertically oriented graphite drawing on off-white paper depicts two figures seated together in the lower half, facing right. Rapid, expressive lines define their forms; on our left, a figure rests their chin on a hand, while the right figure wears a flat, wide-brimmed hat. Voluminous skirts anchor the pair against a stark background. The number 119 is handwritten in the lower right corner.
