Description

This sketchbook contains 59 pages of graphite drawings and 16 watercolors made at various locations on Cape Ann, Massachusetts.
A horizontally oriented graphite drawing on aged paper features loose, linear strokes forming a long dock. Vertical marks create a railing and underlying supports, while a small, peaked-roof shed sits toward the right. Dark, gestural cursive script runs vertically along the left edge. Additional numbers and scrawled text occupy the lower right area, all rendered with sketchy lines against the uniform, cream-colored surface of the sketchbook page.
