Description

This sketchbook contains 59 pages of graphite drawings and 16 watercolors made at various locations on Cape Ann, Massachusetts.
Graphite lines on two open sketchbook pages form a horizontal landscape with loose, sketchy outlines. On the right, a tall house with rectangular windows rises above thick, scribbled shrubbery and a curved foreground wall. To the left, a path winds past tall, gestural trees toward a small building in the distance. Quick, brief strokes define organic and geometric shapes across the off-white paper, lacking shading or intricate detail.
