Description

This sketchbook contains 59 pages of graphite drawings and 16 watercolors made at various locations on Cape Ann, Massachusetts.
A horizontally oriented sketchbook opening features graphite on cream-colored paper depicting a wooded landscape. Rapid, gestural lines form spindly tree trunks and foliage clusters across the central binding seam. The darkest graphite marks shadows on the left and right, while thinner lines fill the top. A clearing containing small, scribbled figures recedes from the bottom center toward the background. In the lower right corner, the number 105 is inscribed.
