Description

This sketchbook contains 59 pages of graphite drawings and 16 watercolors made at various locations on Cape Ann, Massachusetts.
A horizontally oriented graphite drawing across two sketchbook pages depicts several figures with light skin tones on a beach. In the foreground, one sits on the left facing right, while another on the right sits with their back to us wearing a wide-brimmed hat. Five smaller figures stand in the background. Loose, gestural lines define the landscape and sky against the cream-colored paper.
