Description

This sketchbook contains 59 pages of graphite drawings and 16 watercolors made at various locations on Cape Ann, Massachusetts.
Graphite on horizontally oriented cream paper outlines the intersecting organic shapes of a gestural landscape across two sketchbook pages. On the left, loose, dark lines form spindly trees with scribbled foliage. The right page features more trees and a small structure with a pitched roof. Dark marks define the scene throughout, while a broad, empty space in the lower right foreground suggests an open clearing. A small "5" marks the corner.
