Description

This sketchbook contains 59 pages of graphite drawings and 16 watercolors made at various locations on Cape Ann, Massachusetts.
A vertically oriented graphite drawing on cream-colored paper features two gestural sketches. At top center, loose, curving lines suggest a figure in a wide skirt. In the upper right, handwritten cursive reads, "Mustard color blue." Below, a second figure stands in profile facing right, wearing a long coat. Dark gray, energetic lines contrast with the blank paper, and the number "3" is visible in the bottom right corner.
