A vertically oriented etching on cream paper depicts a rural landscape centered on a thick tree trunk. In the lower half, several conical haystacks sit among dense, sketchy grass. A large haystack dominates the lower right foreground, while smaller ones recede toward the left. Sharp hatching creates depth and shadow throughout. The upper third features bare branches extending toward a background of tangled, web-like lines suggesting dense, wind-swept foliage.
