A vertically oriented etching in black ink with dense, fine lines depicts several conical straw beehives in a woodland clearing. The hives, some on wooden platforms, sit in the foreground among tall grass. Behind them, thin trees and one thick trunk on the right extend toward the top. Dense, layered strokes create foliage and areas of shadow against the off-white paper. Through the trees, a faint fence marks the center background.
