A vertically oriented etching in black ink on off-white paper depicts a sloping hillside. A tall, leafless tree dominates the center foreground, its spindly branches reaching upward. Heavy hatching and cross-hatching create dark shadows along its trunk and a dense hedge running diagonally toward the right. Smaller, sketched trees dot the middle ground, and a cluster of slender trees stands on the horizon in the upper right.
