Description

On a blue ground is a pattern in white (now faded to cream) and red (now beige) of paired confronted birds repeated in staggered horizontal rows against scrolling foliation.
A horizontally oriented, fragmented silk lampas weave textile in muted blue and beige is woven with symmetrical bird motifs. Pairs of birds in profile face each other among swirling vines and leaves, mirrored across vertical lines. Horizontal tears and gaps interrupt the frayed fabric throughout. Bird figures on the left and right mirror the central pairs, though some are incomplete due to the jagged, torn shape.
